Chaperones

At Parkbury House, we prioritise patient comfort and safety during all medical examinations and procedures. Our chaperone policy is designed to uphold these standards.

A chaperone is a trained member of staff who is present during certain intimate medical examinations or procedures to ensure the wellbeing and safeguard the interests of patients and clinicians.

Patients are able to request a chaperone at the point of booking an appointment, or they may be offered one during their appointment before the examination/procedure. Patients can decline the offer of a chaperone if they prefer. Patient preferences will always be respected.

If you would like further information about our chaperone policy, or have any questions, please feel free to speak to a member of our reception team or your clinician.
